Iran boosts aluminum ingots production

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 9. Iran's aluminum ingots production increased by 4 percent, during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

According to the report, four Iranian aluminum companies produced a total of 89,718 tons of aluminum ingots in 2 months. The figure stood at 86,216 tons in the same period last Iranian year.

"So, Iranian Aluminum Company produced 31,330 tons of aluminum ingots, Al-Mahdi Aluminum Company – 27,238 tons, the South Aluminum Corporation (SALCO) – 24,917 tons, and Iran Alumina Company – 6,233 tons within two months," the report said.

In addition, the Iran Alumina Company produced over 42,406 tons of alumina powder for two months, which is an increase of 11 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the company’s alumina powder production amounted to 38,160 tons.

In two months, the Iranian Alumina Company produced about 38,000 tons of bauxite.
