BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 5. Car manufacturing in Iran increased by 14.8 percent, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, an official of Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade Abdollah Tavakoli told IRNA, Trend reports.
The official said that overall, Iran manufactured 748,488 cars in 8 months, while in the same period last Iranian year the figure stood at 651,921 cars.
“In addition, 113,609 cars were manufactured by private car manufacturing companies in the country within the mentioned period. This is an increase of 132 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year (48,872 cars),” he added.
According to Tavakoli, it is planned to manufacture 50,000 trucks in the country by the end of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2023).
