BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 18. Iran's raw steel production increased by 14 percent during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports via the report of the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA).
Within 8 months, Iran produced 21.1 million tons of raw steel.
Meanwhile, in the same period the last Iranian year, the country’s raw steel production amounted to 18.5 million tons.
At the same time, 14.7 million tons of steel products were produced in Iran over eight months, which is an increase of 14 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
So, the figure stood at 12.9 million tons in the same period last Iranian year.
Furthermore, Iran produced 24.1 million tons of sponge iron in 8 months.
This is an increase of 20 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, sponge iron production in Iran amounted to nearly 20 million tons in the same period last Iranian year.
