BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 26. Iran’s non-oil exports through the customs of Golestan Province (north-eastern Iran) amounted to 273,000 tons worth approximately $164 million, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2022), Director General of Golestan Province Customs Office Ebrahim Hosseini said, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

The director general noted that the country’s non-oil exports through the province’s customs for the reporting period increased by 23 percent in value while decreasing by 8 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Hosseini added that the exported goods were mainly polystyrene, cheese, dates, iodine, various profiles, iron pipes, raisins, copper wire, tomatoes, etc. The mentioned products were exported to 32 countries, including Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Romania, Bulgaria, Uzbekistan, Russia and Pakistan.

“Over 9 months, 17,600 tons of goods worth $33 million were imported through the province’s customs, which is a decrease of 20 percent in value, while an increase of 23 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he said.

According to him, the imported goods included soybean oil, generator, various fabrics, animal feed and so on, and imported from 16 countries, including Türkiye, Turkmenistan, China, Britain, Kazakhstan, the UAE, Spain, Vietnam, Germany, Denmark, Tajikistan, Italy, Uzbekistan, Philippines and Iraq.

Hosseini also pointed out that the Golestan Province's customs revenues for the first nine months amounted to more than 1.26 trillion rials (about $30.1 million), an increase of 139 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
