Iran sees increase in value for total sales at its Mercantile Exchange

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 11. In total, 4.01 million tons of goods and 1,175 passenger cars worth 392 trillion rials (about $9.34 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME), during the last Iranian week (March 4 through March 9, 2023), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

This is an increase of 33.1 percent in value, compared to the preceding Iranian week (February 25 through March 2, 2023).

So, about 3.54 million tons of goods worth 294 trillion rials (about $7.01 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding Iranian week.

According to the report, 3.58 million tons of goods, and various passenger cars worth 295 trillion rials (about $7.02 billion) were sold in IME's industrial and mining products section last week.

The main products sold in this section included cement, iron ore, steel, sponge iron, aluminum, copper, molybdenum concentrate, and etc.

In addition, 422,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 95.9 trillion rials (about $2.28 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week.

The main products sold in this section were bitumen, vacuum bottom, polymer substances, chemicals, lube cut, base oil, petroleum products, sulfur, and etc.

At the same time, 5,650 tons of various products worth 1.81 trillion rials (about $43 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
