BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 6. Iran’s non-oil exports through road and railways of the Khoy County in the West Azerbaijan Province, increased by 20 percent in value and 40 percent in volume, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023), compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021, through March 20, 2022), Governor of Khoy County, Zabihollah Kazemi told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to Kazemi, in total, 371,000 tons of non-oil products worth $145 million were exported from Khoy County for the last Iranian year.

“The products were mainly exported to Türkiye, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Italy,” he added.

The governor emphasized that Khoy County could play a key role in Iran's international trade with Türkiye and European countries. For this purpose, important steps should be taken and necessary infrastructures should be created.

“The lack of X-ray devices for cars in the Razi Customs Office of the Khoy County is one of the main problems. Negotiations were held with the relevant government agencies to eliminate this problem, and it is expected that the device will be installed soon,” Kazemi noted.

Meanwhile, Iran exported over 111 million tons of non-oil products worth $48.8 billion within the first 11 months of the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through February 19, 2023).

This is an increase of 12.2 percent in value, while a decrease of 1 percent in volume compared to the same period in the preceding Iranian year.
