BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 15. Iran's imports from Kazakhstan decreased by 65.4 percent in value and 63.4 percent in volume during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Trend reports.

As reflected in the official statistics of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran imported circa 63,200 tons of goods worth approximately $26.4 million from Kazakhstan over 4 months. Whereas Iran’s imports from Kazakhstan for the same period last year stood at 173,000 tons worth $76.3 million.

Iran mainly imported agricultural products, including wheat, barley, various types of equipment, etc., from Kazakhstan in 4 months.

During the 4th month alone (June 22 through July 22, 2023), Iran's imports from Kazakhstan were 25,000 tons, worth approximately $10.4 million.

Overall, Iran imported 11.8 million tons of goods worth $19.5 billion within the first 4 months of the current Iranian year.

This is an increase of 10.8 percent in value and 6.18 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
