BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 18. Domestic pick-up truck manufacturing in Iran increased by 46 percent in the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
According to data from Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade, 76,032 pickup trucks were manufactured in the country, while this figure stood at 52,082 in the same period last Iranian year.
In the 6th month alone (August 23 through September 22, 2023), Iran’s pick-up truck output stood at 14,033 units, representing a 23-percent increase from 11,424 units in the same month last Iranian year.
Overall, 125,507 pick-ups were manufactured in Iran for the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), which is an increase of 56 percent compared to 80,243 units in the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
There are three giant car manufacturing companies - Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
