ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, November 23. Azerbaijani businessmen have signed a deal to buy cotton yarn at the auction of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan, Trend reports.

According to the exchange, a deal was reached with Turkmenistan on the purchase of cotton yarn at a price of $1,920 through $2,020 per ton for a total of about $1.05 million.

Furthermore, Kyrgyz entrepreneurs purchased dyed terry products produced at the enterprises of the Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan for a total amount of $51,750.

Turkmenistan is actively developing its textile industry, attracting the attention of entrepreneurs from all over the world, including from Türkiye.

This strategic focus on the development of the textile sector is accompanied by the modernization of production facilities, the introduction of innovative technologies, and the improvement of the quality of manufactured goods.

Meanwhile, over the past week, the total number of transactions on the commodity exchange in Turkmenistan amounted to $8.8 million.
