BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 28. Iran’s Qom Province, located in the north of the country, exported 162,000 tons of non-oil products worth $162 million to 33 countries in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), Director General of Qom Province Customs Office Esfandiar Derikvandi said, Trend reports.

According to Derikvandi, the province expanded its export markets to include some countries from Europe and Africa, in addition to its existing partners such as Iraq, the UAE, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Türkiye.

He added that the province also diversified its export products to 34 types of goods, including lead, shoes, polystyrene, and agricultural products.

This is in line with Iran’s overall effort to increase its non-oil exports, which do not include crude oil, mazut, and white oil that are under US sanctions.

In total, Iran exported 90 million tons of non-oil products worth over $32 billion in the first 8 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023). This is an increase of 1.6 percent in value and 27 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
