Sales of Iran’s Khouzestan Steel Company surge

BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 31. Iran’s Khouzestan Steel Company (KSC) saw a significant rise in its sales value and volume in the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through January 20, 2024), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.

The company’s data shows that the KSC sold 3.32 million tons of steel products worth 591 trillion rials (about $14 billion), which represents a 46.3 percent increase in value and a 3.7 percent increase in volume.

Of the total sales, 2.5 million tons were sold in the domestic market, while the rest were exported. The domestic sales volume grew by 19 percent year-on-year.

Meanwhile, steel ingots made up 1.2 million tons of the domestic sales, which was 12 percent higher than the previous year.

The company did not provide additional information about its exports.

Khouzestan Steel Company (KSC) is a major steel producer in Iran, based in Ahvaz, the capital of Khuzestan Province. The company occupies a land area of 3.8 square kilometers and has a current annual production capacity of 3.8 million tons of steel products, including raw steel, steel ingot, sponge iron, and iron ore pellet. KSC plans to increase its production capacity to 5.2 million tons in the near future.
