The Road Transport Services Department of the Transport Ministry invites all interested companies to participate in the initial pre-qualification of the tender on improvement of the 22-km section of the Alat-Astara automobile route, the Department told Trend.
Initial work includes the expansion of existing two-stripe road to four-stripe, the reconstruction of road covering, materials, asphalt basis, repeated construction of bridges and pipelines, construction of road transmitters and road connectors. The interested companies can acquire documents through payment of 500,000 manats in participation fees (100 AZN). The deadline for application is 23 February.
The Azerbaijani government and the World Bank reached an agreement on the approval of the first installment of the credit for the financing the construction and reconstruction of the Alat-Astara automobile road in the amount of $170m.
In compliance with the feasibility study of the project the length of the road reduced 50km and comprised 192km. The document was designed by the Ministry at the expense of the $750,000 grant provided by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
