TRACECA member-states to start funding Inter-Governmental Secretariat since March

The TRACECA transport corridor member states will start to transfer funds for the operation of the Inter-Governmental Secretariat of this organization in 2006 since March, the organization told Trend.

The decision to finance the Inter-Governmental Commission on the own funds has been taken at the 4-th sitting of the TRACECA Inter-Governmental Commission in April 2005 in Baku. According to the decision made each of the 12 member-states are to transfer per 50,000 euro.

However, as they noted in TRACECA, membership fees of three countries: Afghanistan (after ratification of the agreement to join the transport corridor), Tadjikistan and Kirgizistan will be transferred by the European Commission, as these countries have no such financial means.

Totally for the operation of the Inter-Governmental Secretariat funds amounting to 600.000 euro a year are needed.
