National Action Plan within EU Neighbourhood Policy to Be Approved Today
The National Action Plan within the EU Neighbourhood Policy is expected to be approved during the today meeting of the Council for EU-Azerbaijan Cooperation. Alasgar Alakbarov, Executive Director of the EU TASIC Technical Aid Program Coordination Bureau, said that Azerbaijan will be represented by its Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov in this event, Trend reports.
The Actions Plan covers 7 years. According to Mr. Alakbarov, the Plan will be implemented not only by EU alone, since the Azerbaijan party has a lot of commitments to be implemented. Means from other donors are likely to be attracted by the Azerbaijani party.
This document will stipulate main directions of the EU Neighbourhood economic integration, intense political and cultural ties, and frontier cooperation. Large scale reforms are going to be carried out by the Azerbaijani Government in the next few years. There are prerequisites for Azerbaijan's integration to Europe in the field of legislation. Policy, and economy will be reflected in the above-mentioned Plan as well.
