Mercedes-Benz originally revealed the Vision SLR coupe at the 1999 Detroit Auto Show, with the SLR Vision roadster (shown) following nine months at the 1999 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The SLR roadster will use the same supercharged 5.5L V8 from the coupe, but it could either be the 626-hp version or the 650-hp version used in the 722 special edition. Either way, the SLR roadster is expected to have similar performance to the coupe, which means 0 to 60 in under four seconds, on its way to a top speed of 200 mph, reports Trend.
The SLR roadster will likely debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month, with the SLR roadster likely to launch in the summer.
