Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Babayeva / Tovuz-Baltia Limited, which is a branch of the Naig К°, intends to begin production of quince wine in Azerbaijan, the Director-General of the company, Naig Mammadhasanov, reported.
According to Mammadhasanov, the company has plans to produce 500,000 bottles of the new wine in 2007. Fruit is cultivated in the Azerbaijani regions of Goychay, Zardob and Aghdash are to be used in the production. Sour-sweet quince wine will be sold to the Ukrainians and Russians, as well as the local market.
The director-general reported that the wine had been registered with the Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry and the Degustation Commission was evaluating the wine. Previously the company had produced pomegranate wine for the first time in Azerbaijan. The wine was highly evaluated at international exhibitions.
The company sells its products in over than 15 countries including Japan, Russia and Ukraine.
