Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr I. Khalilova / A Memorandum on Cooperation is expected to be signed between the Azerbaijani city of Sumgayit and the Georgian city of Rustavi , the Governor of Georgian Kvemo-Kartli region, Zurab Melikishvili , visiting Baku reported during the meeting with Azerbaijani Economic Development Minister, Heydar Babayev . The document will be signed during the current visit of the Georgian delegation.
According to Melikishvili , the Memorandum will play a vital role in the expansion of Azerbaijani-Georgian relationships. Melikishvili invited Babayev and the businessmen of Sumgayit to visit Rustavi .
Azerbaijani Minister supported the development of economic ties not only with Rustavi but also with other Georgian regions. In this connection it would be valuable to hold a presentation of the investment potential of those regions in Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Fund (AZPROMO) can assist in the organization of such presentations and meetings between entrepreneurs.
