GDP Increased by 34,5% in Azerbaijan in 1st Half-year of 2007

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend U.Ismayilova / The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased by 35.1% in Azerbaijan over January to June compared to 2006.

The State Statistics Committee stated that as at 1 July the GDP in current prices reached AZN 10,672,400. The per capita GDP made up 1265.0 AZN ($1461.6).

The share of production in GDP of the country increased by 45.9% compared to last year and made up 72.9%.

In this period the Value Added Cost rose 10.8% in the services sector compared to last year, whereas the special weight in GDP reduced by 3.2% and constituted 20%.

Over the first half-year industrial production in GDP was AZN 6,643,700, or 62.2% of the total GDP.

The value added cost comprised AZN 423.7mln (4%) in agriculture, hunting sector and forestry, AZN 711.0mln construction sector (6.7%), AZN 573.9mln (5.4%) in transport, AZN 172.7mln (1.6%) in communications, AZN 619.0 mln (5.8%) in wholesale and retail trade, AZN 65.1mln (0.6%) in automobile sector, consumer goods and services in repair of personal effects, restaurants and hotel, AZN 709.7mln (AZN 6.6%) in rendering social and other services.

Net taxes collected from products and import made up 7.1% in the GDP.
