Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr I. Khalilova / Millennium Development Goal Statistics (MDG Statistics) event will take place in the central office of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on 1-3 October. Representatives of the State Statistics Committee will be in attendance from the Azerbaijani side, according to Baku office of the bank.
Azerbaijan was charged with presenting Azerbaijan's poverty statistics methodology and accountancy in accordance with MDG.
As a result of 2006, poverty in Azerbaijan reduced to 20.8%. The calculations were carried out on the basis of monthly living wage (AZN 58).
After implementation of the first state program on poverty reduction (2003-05), namely as a result of 2005, poverty in Azerbaijan was reduced to 29%, while in 2004 it was 49%.
