Georgia Intends to Satisfy Gas Demand Thanks to Azerbaijan
Georgia, Tbilisi / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia / Georgia can satisfy its country's gas demand thanks to Azerbaijani gas, Alexander Khetaguri, the Georgian Energy Minister, said on 3 October.
The issue can be resolved technically and resource-wise. There will not be any problems with the gas supply, Khetaguri said.
"Tariffs for gas will not be raised independent from the final decision of the negotiation," he said.
Georgia has not been able to receive gas from Azerbaijani Azarigas company since 5 September. But we have been receiving gas from Azerbaijan through other resources, the Georgian Minister said.
