Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan to Discuss Exploration, Joint Development of Fields
Azerbaijan, Baku, 20 June /corr. Trend E.Ismaylov / The key goal of conducting conference 'Oil and gas potential of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan: energy, economy, ecology. Development strategy' is to discuss the issues of joint exploration, development of fields of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, as well as to carry out scientific studies, Natig Aliyev, Minister of Industry and Energy of Azerbaijan, said.
"Co-operation strategy is not envisaged for a year, two or five years. It is a strategy which will possibly develop along with decades," Aliyev said.
According to the Minister, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan have many joint projects that may be realized. Especially the conference will focus on infrastructure established by Azerbaijan in the Caspian Sea and its possible use by Turkmenistan.
In addition, the conference envisages showing joint co-operation of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan in ensuring energy security of the region and European continent. The conference is supposed to cover the issues of estimating common reserves of the two countries.
There are scientific-search issues that will be considered jointly because South Caspian is 'geo-political oil and gas province', the Minister said.
