SOCAR Reduces Noxious Emissions at Azerneftyag by 80,000 Tons

Azerbaijan, Baku, 16 July / Trend / As a result of the actions assumed in 2007 by Azerneftyagh Oil Refinery, quantity of waters intaken from Caspian sea and treated outlet waters, petroleum derivatives which remained in water analysis as well as noxious emissions were reduced respectively as 8; 5; 05 and 80 ths tons in comparison with 2006, State Oil Company of Azerbaijan reported

Eight tanks at 30 м3 capacity and two tanks at 25 м3 capacity were set up at Balakhanineft oil and gas producing unit for changeover of underground overhaul of wells.

Design documents have already been compiled for recultivation of 158 ha area and are under agreement with proper authorities. 3.8 ha area have been decontaminated from petroleum derivatives.

For drainage of produced waters in Bibiheybat field by closed system, there laid reinforce-concrete canal at 1500 m length and lined with concrete casings, two tanks at 1000 м3 capacity were set up and 800 m metal

pipes in 300 mm thickness were replaced with anti-corrosion plastic pipes and 404 masts and derricks were dismantled.

There conducted soil pollution monitoring and control operations for 405 ha area which contaminated with various wastes, 206.5 ha area were remediated mechanically and at the present, biological clean-up works are ongoing. Mobile facility at 15 tons/hour throughput capacity was set up in order accelerate the soil clean-up works. The abandoned trestle scaffolds and platforms and current communication lines in deep-water section of the field are being dismantled. There dragged out wrecks and lagans of 10 sunk and near surface ships with 2060 tons total weight from bottom of fake aquatory.

Some 800 м3 produced waters drained to mining area in A.Amirov OGPD were injected to subsurface horizontal reservoirs.

There constructed pump station in H.Z. Taghiyev OGPD for drainage of Chaparidze lake water which precipitated by produced water and domestic sewages to Hovsan canal and relevant pipeline was installed at 2310 m length and the lake was reclaimed.

Two faulty tanks of "Absheronneft" OGPD were replaced with new ones.

There purchased one slurry tank for decantation of bottom settlings during transportation process and tank cleaning in Dubendi oil terminal and 4 facilities for treatment of produced water sedimented at tank farms in area oil injection stations.
