Investor to Increase Capacity of HPS in Azerbaijan by 3-4 times

Azerbaijan, Sheki, 20 November / corr Trend K.Akperova / "Power of a hydroelectric power station (HPS), which is a unique station in the Caucasus built in Sheki at the beginning of 1930s, will increase by three-four times due to  installation of new equipment, delivered from Germany," Aydin Khalilov, director of HPS of Sheki.

These are the first large-scale restoration and reconstruction work, is carried out in HPS, the director of station said.

Three jacks of turbines in water-supply channels will be overhauled within the frames of the work.

This work will be conducted manually, without technique at a height of 85-264m.

General Construction, an open joint stock company, will realize reconstruction of HPS in Sheki. The station was transferred to the country's management.   

So far, the company has invested over AZN 2mln.

Additional funds are envisaged for full elimination of problems with provision of drinkable water and electricity in future.
