After a Cabinet of Ministers' decision, the Azerbaijani Industrial and Energy Ministry is preparing an order to require state structures to submit monthly reports on energy consumption in the regions, Azerbaijani Industrial and Energy Ministry State Gas Control Department Director Asaf Zeynalov said.
The relevant structures currently report gas and electricity consumption. After the order is issued, executive authorities, state powers and gas control structures will be involved in the process and summarize monthly energy production and consumption, Zeynalov said.
"Gas and electricity consumption figures will be produced jointly with the relevant authorities engaged in producing and delivering energy and regional executive authorities and gas and power control structures," he added.
Azerenerji is the largest electricity producer in Azerbaijan.
Azerigaznagl supplies gas to all the country's regions.
The Gas Control Department will be also be involved in the process, Zeynalov said.
