KazMunayGas increases proved and probable oil reserves

KazMunayGas increased its proved and probable oil reserves, Media Director Mikhail Dorofeyev told Trend .

"Gaffney, Cline and Associates reported that the company's total proved and propable oil reserves hit 241.180 million tons excluding its shares in Kazgermunay and Karajanbasmunay," Dorofeyev said.

He added that the company's oil reserves grew 10.7 million tons in 2008.

Roughly 113 percent accounted for reserves recovery.

Proved oil reserves hit 95.544 million tons and proved plus probable reserves - 281.583 million tons.

KazMunayGas is the second-largest oil producer in Kazakhstan.  

Oil production reached 9.530 million tons in 2007; 7.354 million tons accounted for exports. The volume of the company's proved and probable oil reserves was 240 million tons in late 2007.

KazMunayGas acquired 50 percent of Kazgermunay and Karajanbasmunay in 2007.

The company is listed on the Kazakh Stock Exchange and London Stock Exchange.

During its IPO in September 2006, the company attracted over $2 billion.
