Azerbaijan has big potential as energy resources supplier, German federal ministry of economics and technology director general on energy policy Detlef Dauke said at the 16-th Caspian international oil and gas conference in Baku on June 3.
Countries of the Caspian region turned into very important economic partners not for Germany but for the European Union, Dauke said.
Azerbaijan and Germany established firm economic cooperation. Oil and gas sector is major element. German companies are interested in further expansion of this cooperation, Dauke said.
Germany is interested in creation of bridge between the Caspian region and Europe. Germany fully supports South corridor project, especially Nabucco gas pipeline, Dauke said.
"This project will open a new stage in the European economy and will be basis for further cooperation between countries."
