Electricity consumption falls in Azerbaijan's capital

In January-August, "Bakielektrikshebeke" joint stock company (JSC) (sale and distribution of electricity in Baku) acquired from JSC Azerenergy (the largest electricity producer in Azerbaijan) more than 5,5 billion kilowatt-hours, compared to about 5.9 billion kilowatt hours of electricity in the same period of 2008, "Bakielektrikshebeke" JSC said.
In August, the company purchased 537.8 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, compared to 616.6 million kilowatt-hours in August, 2008.
The company's payment for the electricity purchased from JSC Azerenergy was about 84.7 percent in January-August, compared to 80 percent in January-August, 2008.
In August, the payment for the electricity received from Azerenergy amounted to 91 percent compared to 86.1 percent in August, 2008.
