Russian int'l port of Novorossiysk ups shipment of oil-related products

In January-November 2009, the Russian Black Sea port of Novorossiysk shipped about 40.6 million tons of oil, compared to 39.1 million tons in the same period of 2008, the port's official Web site reported.

Around 12 million tons of oil products were shipped in January-November 2009, compared to around 10 million tons of last year.

Over 79 million tons of various cargo was transported in January-November, compared to over 74.3 million tons of the mentioned period in 2008.

The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) is shipping own gas via the Novorossiysk port. In January-November, SOCAR transported 2.34 million tons of oil via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline compared to 1.11 million tons during the same period of last year, SOCAR said.

Totally in November the company transported about 238,700 tons of oil via Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline.

In 2009 SOCAR intends to increase oil transportation via Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline to 2.5 million tons compared to nearly 1.3 million tons in 2008.

SOCAR will reduce exports of Azerbaijani oil to Russia in 2010. According to forecasts, the figure will amount to 1.9 million tons in 2010.
