The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic's (SOCAR) Azerkimya Production Union is growing seedlings at its own production sites, the company reported.
The PU has created plots on its production sites to grow the seedlings. Roughly 31,200 plants and five kilograms of seed have been planted at Azerkimya sites.
The PU plans to plant about 80,000 trees in green areas to be constructed along the Baku-Guba Highway. The areas designated for planting have already been cleared and cleaned of industrial wastes and metal residues. A 13-kilometer water pipeline to irrigate the trees is currently being built. The company also plans to lay a 8.6-meter-wide road.
