SOCAR expands its network of petrol stations in Georgia

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) works on the construction of seven new filling stations in Georgia under its own brand, a source at SOCAR Energy Georgia, which is SOCAR representative in Georgia, said.

"Earlier, the company commissioned two own filling stations. During the month, the work on the construction of another seven new filling stations will continue," the source said.

By opening of two new petrol stations, the total number of gas stations operating under the brand "SOCAR" reached 34 units.

SOCAR plans to open about 30 new stations under the brand of SOCAR, the other source said earlier.

SOCAR Energy Georgia deals with distribution and marketing of oil and oil products in Georgia. The company sells oil and gas in the Georgian market.

Co-founders of SOCAR Georgia are: SOCAR - 51 percent, Petro-Trans FZCO - 24,5 percent and Ivan Chkhartishvili - 24,5 percent.
