Iran’s fuel oil consumption increases

The National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) announced that Iran's fuel oil consumption has increased by 26.3 million liters (7.9 percent) to 356.9 million liters from Feb. 19 to Feb. 25, 2011, Shana reported.

Iran 's fuel oil consumption averaged 50.9 million liters a day from Feb. 19 to Feb. 25, 2011.

Iran 's fuel oil consumption stood at 330.6 million liters during the Iranian calendar week (Feb. 12 to Feb. 18, 2011).

In December 2010, National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company Managing Director Farid Ameri said Iran will increase its fuel storage capacity by 5 billion barrels to reach over 16.7 billion liters.

The current storage capacity of oil products in the country is around 11.5 billion liters, but it will reach 16.7 billion liters by the end of the Fifth Five Year Development Plan (2011-2016), Ameri added.

Iran is the world's fourth-largest oil exporter and sits on the second-largest gas reserves after Russia.
