Dragon Oil (UAE) has built a 30-inch trunk oil pipeline on the Cheleken Peninsula in Turkmenistan, the Turkmen Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources Ministry said.
The new pipeline connected onshore complexes with offshore fixed platforms in the Cheleken Contract Area in the central part of the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea. Oil reserves on the explored area hit over 100 million tons as of Dec. 31, 2010.
The main pipeline is laid to pump a multiphase production from offshore oil wells to the onshore facilities.
It is also reported that the pipelines were laid by observing all environmental aspects of the Caspian Sea region in accordance with national environmental legislation and international acts.
