Georgia, Tbilisi, Sept. 5 /Trend, N.Kirtskhalia/

Batumi Oil Terminal denies reports on pollution of drinking water because of the damage to the oil pipeline belonging to the terminal.

"While clarification of circumstances of drinking water pollution, the relevant ecology and municipal services did not make any claims to the Batumi oil terminal," a source at the Terminal told Trend.

On Sept. 4, the media outlets reported that in Batumi, in Bartshana settlement, oil flowed from taps because of the damage to the oil pipeline belonging to the Batumi Oil Terminal.

Batumi Oil Terminal management states that the terminal can not physically cause the pollution of drinking water, because it is neither the operator nor owner of the park of the former oil refinery, located in the Bartshana settlement.

"The communications of the terminal are in good condition and under constant supervision of technical service, which is confirmed by the relevant regulations and technical expertise," the same source said.
