Iran assigns $1 bln for construction of Persian Gulf Star refinery

The Iranian Oil Ministry will assign $1 billion to complete constructing the Persian Gulf Star refinery, ISNA quoted Deputy Oil Minister Mohsen Khojastemehr as saying.

"The sum worth $1 billion will be provided to continue constructing the Persian Gulf Star refinery," he said.

Persian Gulf Star refinery requires 360,000 barrels of gas condensate. After completing the construction, it will produce 35 million liters of gasoline per day alongside 2 million liters of LNG, 13 million liters diesel, 3 million liters light jet fuel and 130 million liters of sulfur.

The refinery is expected to provide 55 million liters of major products of country's needs. After launching the first phase next year (starts on March 20, 2012), it will produce 12 million liters of gasoline and 6 million liters of diesel.
