The Azerbaijani Industry and Energy Ministry's State Gas Control Department imposed 706 bans on consumers to use gas for 2007-2011, head Asif Zeynalov told Trend today.
He said the department sent 5,000 prescriptions to consumers to remove deficiencies in the gas sector over this period.
"The amount of fines for violations over the past five years reached 437,600 manat," Zeynalov said.
He stressed that the department received 500 complaints from consumers, of which 315 were in the form of statements, and the rest in the form of complaints.
SOCAR's Azerigaz production association is engaged in the transportation, distribution and sale of natural gas in Azerbaijan.
