An integration of oil refining and petro chemistry in Azerbaijan will bring about a new complex in oil and gas processing and make the production of petrochemical products (OGPC) even more profitable, said director of advisory services IHS John Page at a forum on creating OGPC in Baku on Wednesday.
"In recent years the greatest demand is for polyethylene and polypropylene and most optimal and important markets of delivery of these products may be the markets of Turkey, Europe, Southeast Asia and particularly China," said Page.
Managing director and deputy director of the Department of Energy projects, Societe Generale, Olivier Musset said at the forum that such a project being implemented in Azerbaijan would be the largest one ever and requires equally large investments. In order to attract financing from banks this project must be fully justified.
