Turkey to privatise four more electricity distribution networks

Turkey will put up four electricity distribution networks for 100 per cent privatisation, the Turkish Resmi Gazete newspaper reported on Tuesday.

The following networks will be put up for privatisation: İstanbul Anadolu Yakası Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş (electricity distribution network on the Anatolian side of Istanbul), Dicle Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş, Toroslar Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş and Vangölü Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş.

Networks Anadolu Yakası Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş and Toroslar Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş will be put up for sale at $25 million each, Dicle Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş - $10 million and Vangölü Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş - $5 million.

The tender for the privatisation will be held on Feb.19, 2013.

Previously, Turkey announced a tender to privatise the electricity distribution network of Akdeniz Elektrik Dağıtım which provides Antalya, Isparta and Burdur with electricity, as well as the electricity distribution network of the European side of Istanbul Bogaziçi Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş.

Earlier Energy and Natural Resources Minister of Turkey Taner Yildiz reported that Turkey intends to continue its policy of privatisation of the energy sector and in particular electricity and gas distribution.
