Ukrainian company to take part in exploration and production of hydrocarbons in Kazakhstan

Burisma Holdings, the largest independent gas producer in Ukraine, signed an agreement with Kazakh national oil and gas company KazMunaiGas on exploration and production of hydrocarbons in Kazakhstan

By Elena Kosolapova - Trend: Burisma Holdings, the largest independent gas producer in Ukraine, signed an agreement with Kazakh national oil and gas company KazMunaiGas on exploration and production of hydrocarbons in Kazakhstan, Ukrainian company reported.
Thus, Burisma Holdings is the first company in Ukraine, which will develop oil and gas resources in Kazakhstan.

The agreement stipulates that Burisma Holdings together with KazMunaiGas will conduct a seismic and drilling operation, work on exploration and production of the hydrocarbon, as well as examine the possibility of infrastructure building in Kazakhstan.

Earlier Burisma Holdings' representatives held a number of bilateral meetings with the Kazakh senior officials. In particular, the owner of Burisma Holdings Nicholay Zlochevskyi met with Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov and Foreign Minister Erlan Idrissov to discuss the prospects of joint cooperation, including plans to provide Burisma Holdings with the Strategic Partner status.

Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov assessed the prospects of bilateral cooperation and business development of Burisma Holdings in Kazakhstan as promising. He noted that Burisma Holdings could bring new technologies, innovative American equipment and a modern approach to seismic and drilling operations to Kazakhstan's oil and gas industry.

"At the beginning of 2015, we are planning to invest in joint projects in Kazakhstan ", the owner of Burisma Holdings Nicholay Zlochevskyi said.
KazMunaiGas is the Kazakh national operator for exploration, production, refining and transportation of hydrocarbons, representing the state interests in Kazakhstan's gas and oil industry. KazMunaiGas is wholly owned by the state through Samruk-Kazyna National Wealth Fund.
