By Huseyn Hasanov- Trend:

A meeting of experts on working out the international legal document regulating the rights and obligations of producers, consumers of energy resources and those transiting these resources will be held in Brussels.

Turkmenistan and Energy Charter Secretariat will hold the meeting on April 22, the message from Turkmenistan's government said.

Under the decree of the Turkmen president, the country's government delegation will be led by Yagshigeldy Kakayev, director of the State Agency for Management and Use of Hydrocarbon Resources under the President of Turkmenistan.

The meeting is intended to be become another step towards the practical implementation of the UN resolution "Reliable and stable transit of energy resources and its role in ensuring sustainable development and international cooperation" adopted at the initiative of Turkmenistan during the 67th session of the UN General Assembly in May 2013, according to the message.

It should be noted that this issue was discussed at the meeting of Turkmen government. During that meeting Turkmenistan's President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the "role of the UN as a universal global structure within which it is possible to reach a broad international consensus on forming the new architecture of energy security."

Being one of the key players in the energy market in Central Asia and the Caspian Sea region, Turkmenistan puts forward a number of initiatives to ensure reliable and stable supply of energy resources to the world markets within the UN.

Turkmenistan annually produces around 70-80 billion cubic meters of gas. The raw materials are exported to Russia and Iran.

The country ranks fourth in the world for the volume of gas reserve and is looking for new sales markets in Europe as well. The export of Turkmen gas through the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan and Turkey is the best route for entering the European continent.
