Baku, Azerbaijan, Feb. 27
By Maksim Tsurkov – Trend:
Around 2.6 million tons (20.04 million barrels) of Azerbaijani oil will be shipped from the Turkish port of Ceyhan in March 2017, a source in Azerbaijan’s oil and gas market told Trend Feb. 27.
A major part of the oil will account for Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR, which will ship oil in 23 batches.
“More than 2.05 million tons of oil (15.6 million barrels) will account for SOCAR,” the source said. “The remaining parts will account for Chevron, Exxon and joint volumes.”
Oil from Azerbaijan’s Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli block of oil and gas fields is delivered to Turkey’s Ceyhan port via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline.
The total length of the BТС is 1,768 kilometers, including a 443-kilometer section in Azerbaijan, a 249-kilometer section in Georgia and a 1,076-kilometer section in Turkey.
Condensate from Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz and oil from Turkmenistan are also shipped from Turkey’s Ceyhan port.
