As of December 2017, daily pumping via the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline increased by 5 million up to 39 million cubic meters, the Oil and Gas Complex of Turkmenistan said in a message Jan. 31.

Imports of Turkmen fuel increased thanks to intensive production at 101 wells and increased productivity of two gas processing plants at the field on the right bank of the Amudarya River, operated by China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).

The growth of indicators was also affected by the early commissioning of compressor facilities. The Turkmen project, implemented on the Bagtyyarlyk contract area since 2007, is one of the biggest foreign projects of the corporation and is significant in the context of the import of Turkmen natural gas, which played a significant role in overcoming the recent energy supply crisis in China, says the message.

The gas pipeline was commissioned in 2009. CNPC acts as a buyer. Total length of the pipeline is more than 9,000 kilometers.
