Turkmenneft state concern of Turkmenistan has launched drilling of a new well in the perspective Uzynad area (southwest of Turkmenistan), the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported.
To effectively develop the hydrocarbon beds, the work is carried out jointly with specialists of the Turkmengeology state corporation.
Until the end of 2018, four ultra-deep wells will be drilled at the Uzynad field.
Last year, Turkmenneft completed the construction of a well drilled to a depth of 7,150 meters at this area.
"The received hydrocarbon production has opened prospects for further development of the deposit," according to the report.
Earlier, it was reported that an ultra-deep exploration well will be drilled at the Uzynad field to search for new hydrocarbon deposits.
A drilling rig and equipment of ZJ-70 DB brand manufactured by China were used during the work.
