Turkmenistan’s Ak Sili plant located in the country’s Mary province specializes in production of reagents used in energy sector, oil and gas production, chemical, medical, food and other industries, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported.

Since December last year, more than 200 tons of technical hydrochloric acid have been produced at the plant. Most of hydrochloric acid was sold to local power plants. Hydrochloric acid at the plant is obtained from local raw materials - bischofite - a mineral found in large quantities in the deposits of Garabogazgol Bay.

The plant has developed a technology for obtaining solution (based on hydrochloric acid) to remove salt and iron oxide deposits from the surfaces of heating equipment used in energy sector and other industries.

In addition, the solution removes limescale on marble, granite and other surfaces, and is also used to treat bottomhole zones of oil wells. Until recently, the reagent was purchased abroad.
