SEJIN Co.,Ltd to produce electricity from landfill gas in Uzbekistan

The South Korean SEJIN Co.,Ltd company will build facilities for the production of electricity by converting landfill gas generated at household waste sites "Akhangaran" and "Maydontol" of Tashkent region, UzDaily.uz reported.

The Korean side will establish a foreign enterprise in Uzbekistan in order to implement the project.

The SEJIN Co.,Ltd company has also assumed an obligation to attract direct investments in the amount of $55 million in 2018-2020.

As part of the project, the South Korean company will install 12 units of new modern generators and auxiliary equipment that will generate electricity from landfill gas (methane) generated at the Akhangaran and Maydontol household waste sites.

The total capacity of the plants will be at least 16 megawatts (10 plants of 1,560 kilowatts each and 2 plants of 500 kilowatts each).

The government of Uzbekistan has granted tax and customs benefits to SEJIN Co.,Ltd.
