By Huseyn Hasanov – Trend:
Turkmenistan is working on optimization of gas supplies to China, Trend reports with reference to “Turkmengas” state concern.
The work on implementation of the second phase of the project, aimed at increasing the pressure of gas sent to the Turkmenistan-China transnational gas pipeline has recently been competed.
At the new booster compressor station, the first unit of which was put into operation a year ago, the additional four compressor units were installed.
This increased the capacity of the station by 6.5 million cubic meters of gas per day. This project involves the reconstruction of two gas collection points and the laying of pipelines.
Export deliveries of Turkmen gas to China are carried out from several "raw" sources. Among them are Samandepe and the fields included in the contractual territory "Bagtyyarlyk", developed by the company "Amu Darya", established under the Chinese National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).
Since 2007, when the Production Sharing Agreement was concluded, significant work was carried out on the right bank of the Amu Darya River, related to seismic surveys, drilling of exploration and production wells. As a result, new gas deposits were discovered, including at the Samandepe field (block A), as well as in the eastern, southern and northern parts of the contract area "Bagtyyrlyk" (block B).
High-yield oil and gas inflows were obtained during testing of exploratory wells in the central part of the Amudarya basin. Thus, in 2015, a group of gas fields Bota-Tanguygyy-Uzynguyy was commissioned, in 2016 gas deposits Zapadny Zzormergen and Morajuma were discovered.
Two gas processing plants were built - on the Samandepe field and in the Khojambaz etrap (region) of the Lebap velayat (region) of Turkmenistan, more than a hundred test and production wells, production, logistics and social infrastructure facilities.
