National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) will put two million barrels of heavy oil up for sale at the Iranian energy exchange (IRENEX) on July 9, Trend reports referring to NIOC's website.
The initial price of the oil is set at $57.66 per barrel. This is the fourth time when Iran has put heavy oil up for sale at IRENEX. On April 30, Iran sold 70,000 barrels of heavy oil at IRENEX.
Customers may receive the oil load within three months of the purchase, with load being delivered to locations approved by NIOC.
Iran intends to diversify its oil sales methods by putting crude oil up for sale at the energy exchange, and to export crude oil by using the private sector.
Iran has put crude oil and gas condensates up for sale at IRENEX numerous times since Oct. 28, 2018. As of today, 1.085 million barrels of crude oil have been sold at the energy exchange.
