Minister: Iran cannot sell oil easily
Baku, Azerbaijan, Sept. 18
By Elnur Baghishov - Trend:
Iran cannot sell oil easily, Iran’s Oil Minister Bijan Zangeneh told reporters after a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, Trend reports citing IRNA.
However, Iran will spare no efforts to sell its oil, he noted.
He added that oil is not a weapon and shouldn’t be used as a weapon.
“Oil is a product that people need and its sale should be allowed freely in markets,” he said.
Commenting on Iran’s oil contracts with Russia and China, the minister said that Russia has already taken significant steps as part of the deals.
“The Chinese side hasn’t been very active,” he noted.
The US sanctions against Iran in November 2018 had a significant negative impact on Iran’s oil sales.
