Iran will have prevented outflow of over $240,000 from the country by overhauling the Fath 81 rig domestically, an official at the National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) Mohammad Sadeghipour said, Trend reports with reference to the NIDC website.

Operations of the Fath 81 rig were stopped in the beginning of the current Iranian year (started on March 21, 2019) for the repair work, Sadeghipour said.

Currently, the overhaul has been completed by 80 percent, the NDIC official added.

According to the work schedule, the rig's overhaul is expected to be completed by the end of the current Iranian month (from Dec. 21, 2019 to Jan. 20, 2020), Sadeghipour added.

The Fath 81 drilling rig of the NDIC started operating in 2004. To date, the company has drilled 45 oil and gas wells with the total depth of over 135,000 meters.
