By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

The fuel price has decreased by 2 – 5 tetri (69-1.7 cents) in Georgia since the start of 2020, Trend reports via the Union of Oil Importers of Georgia.

As reported, one barrel oil price reached $68 in December 2019, while at the moment, the cost equals to $64.5.

The Union of Oil Importers of Georgia says that the fuel price decreased as a result of the recent tensions in the Middle East.

As the Union of Oil Importers reports, the lari exchange rate to USD influences the local market.

As reported, the situation is comparatively stable in the retail network of fuel in Georgia.

''A whole set of brand networks reduced the fuel price by about 2 -5 tetri (69-1.7 cents) per liter,'' the union says.

The price for different types of petrol in Georgia is as follows: REGULAR - 2.40-2.55 lari/liter (83-88 cents), PREMIUM - 2.55-2.65 lari/liter (88- 92 cents) , SUPER - 2.66-2.77 lari/liter (92-96 cents), EURO Diesel - 2.62-2.79 lari/liter (91-97 cents).

According to the Union, the gas stations that do not operate under any specific brand names also reduced the fuel price by 15 – 20 tetri (5.2-6.9 cents).
