Romania’s Romgaz company intends on the short term to inject natural gas and to postpone deliveries for winter, to prevent a potential narrowing of the economic activity with consequences on the gas consumption, Trend reports citing the company.
As regards production, the company said it focuses on carrying out activities in normal conditions.
“If an infection occurs at a work location, there are alternatives for taking over the activity by the nearest structures. In exceptional cases imposed by authorities, the situation on the field may be different. So far, all field production activities are carried out in normal, awareness, responsible conditions,” said Romgaz.
Romgaz noted that delays can occur in case of investments, beyond the company’s control, taking into account that all relationships with third parties are carried out in state of emergency declared nationally.
“Therefore, we witness reduced activities of contracted firms or even closed factories in countries affected by pandemics, closed borders, these leading to the impossibility to transport materials or equipment, reduced activities in companies and at offices, the lack of personnel following self-isolation or quarantine, logistic limitations imposed by the state of emergency,” said the company.
Romgaz is the largest natural gas producer and the main supplier in Romania. The company is listed on Bucharest Stock Exchange and GDRs are traded on London Stock Exchange. The majority shareholder is the Romanian state owning a 70 percent stake.
Romgaz undertakes geological exploration with the aim of discovering new gas reserves, produces methane by exploiting the reservoirs included in the company’s portfolio and stores natural gas in underground storages; it performs well interventions, workover and special operations, and ensures technological transportation professional services.
